Wrong words, right music

Poland would definitely not be in the top of my answers to the question "where do you think this comes from?", but I love outsiders and -sometimes- surprises. We owe this outsider to _jackie who uploaded in soundcloud 5 days ago, along with a big "thank you" for the free download.

If this tune "speaks" to you, don't miss out on more _jackie's sounds, who drops weekly tracks every Saturday in his page. The "Wrong words" track is the latest, spoken with the right music.

Get me a doctor

It's been about 20 hours since Dr. Togo and I met. I admit I've never heard of him before, not till a day ago when Vinyl Addicted uploaded this amazing edit in his soundcloud page, which seems to be haunting me badly.

So when I heard this oh-so-loving guitar riff and the slapping bass, the sampledigger came out in me and that's when I came across the Doctor. Now I've got two stroke-evoking tunes in my hands and my playlist and one of them is extended, man! Download it for free in Vinyl Addicted's fb page here, check out the original version here and let me know if your condition turns out treatable.

Disco fever expanded

This week brings out the need for soothing stuff in me. Soothing, jazzy stuff. And it's nice to see that I can find what I'm looking for -can't fail in music.

New release from Natural Essence Media with the Expanded People's Disco Fever being contagious and spreading all around in several versions (find them all here). I picked the Slo Mo for today, but I'm really not sure about my favorite yet -I seem to smile the same way with almost all of them and I bet I can easily "dump" Fhernando for Manager & Afro tomorrow.

I'm not that cruel usually. Really.

Soul recipe

With one touch of Bamboos taste and Kylie Auldist's aroma, Dojo Cuts make one more bullet in the long list of Australia's contemporary funkish, soulful artists. And this one is perfectly soothing for a mid-week crisis.

I think I'll stick with these guys for a while, instead of all these funk starlettes that we get one after another, with a dubious background and love for music.

Liquid funk flashback

What the hell is wrong with me and I leave years pass by without checking out on those producers that would give me the chills again and again with their tunes? Peshay was a music love of mine about a decade ago, one of my favorite liquid funk producers who I haven't touched for the last couple of years, or maybe more. Yesterday as I was browsing through my old files to get them somewhat organized, *poof* there he was. After the facepalm situation that occured when I realized that it's been years since the last time his music came through my speakers, I turned the volume as high as I could handle to this one.

Along with "It's a house thing" and "Take you there", "You got me burnin'" could be enough to send my inner self to outer space back and forth 5 times, while my social self would pretend to listen to what everybody else had to say about their day at work, the chick across the room or the handsome dude that had just passed by.

And the good news is (not that there's any bad news so far) that Peshay released an LP in December on Tru Thoughts, which might disappoint the dnb fans, but will definitely make the open-minded smile to its funky, jazzy, tropical sound. Preview the album here.

Nice to see you again, Mr. Pesce. Long time.

Acid goodbye

Ronny Jordan, this jazzy-R&B inspired guitarist, was always hidden somewhere in my music library through the years. There were times he would come to my mind and have a day's playlist dedicated to him, but then there could pass months and months without magnetizing my finger to the play button. It's kinda sad that this last time I pressed play to his music, he has already head off, leaving this world with one less jazz musician.

I'm sure that his music will keep givin' us brighter days, though.
RIP, Ronny.

Karim on Osborne

I must admit that for the past two days I haven't heard a single note, haven't pressed play to a single track and the only reason I would move my hand was to blow my nose and catch the thermometer. Nice, huh? The last thing I enjoyed before this goddamn flu would conquer my nose and throat system, was Karim's version on Jeffrey Osborne's "Plane love".

Karim is a safe bet for me, holding a permanent spot on my playlists. And now that I am all glowing health again (well, sort of), I'll add this (offered with a free download) to my Karim favorites as well.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go change myself into human again, consume about 10000 calories to make up for lost ground and make good use of the sexy voice the flu left me.

Re-rubbing the '80s

Micamino is no news to this blog, since we've seen his Freda Payne re-touch here and his re-rub on Ray Parker Jr & Raydio, here. As it appears, there are a lotta producers who ain't gonna have just one stroll around here, cause they keep editing/producing things that need to be spread around. And I like to spread the good news.

Marti Cain and her beautiful voice gave us "Love the way you love me" back in 1981 and Micamino made this smooth re-rub to remind us that the '80s weren't all about Duran-Duran and Salt-n-Pepa. And except for reminding us that, he offers his work on this with a free download.

A huge "thank you" just left this place heading to Micamino.

Boogie time

Last year (or about a month ago) we listened to Magnetic Soul together and I left it in your hands to keep on diggin' deep into his music. Well, I hope you did cause I see there's new stuff with his signature on them, like this new EP filled with boogie sounds, which is no more than one month old.

Make a disco turn, clap your hands twice and let the boogie take over.

Love & Happiness through the years

Love and happiness is all we need to get on with a decent life. Al Green said something about it more than 40 years ago and as it was expected, this fine tune hits with no mercy all the music production softwares and hardwares around the globe, today. A beloved result came from Nicholas three years ago with "Love is", but before that, Shoes presented another side of this story with this -available for free download- smooth edit.

I think they've got it all covered.

World under a groove

I wish this new year and all the years ahead of us will bring us a groove that will make us better people, happy people, loving people, concerned people, soulful people, free people and most of all, more human. Actually, I wish we bring and spread this groove ourselves, cause the new year on its own ain't gonna bring us nothing.

One world under a groove. That would be awesome.
