Keep it kewl

For this brand new week we have ahead of us, I'd like to share with you something fresh and upbeat to keep things going up and cool.

This is the new EP from RollAnd, a french dude with a french touch. The Diana track may remind you of this and this -which makes me love it even more- and while we're at it, check out and download for free one of my favorite older ones from RollAnd here which is a really nice take on Gwen Guthrie's "It should have been you" and definitely his point of view on Chic's "I want your love", here. God, I love this track in all its versions. That's totally impossible.

Cheatin' soundtrack

This is the happiest cheating song I've ever heard.

I mean, you can even dance and sing-along to being cheated on with this gem right here from The Presidents! All the cheated ones out there unite under this groove.

Disco dive into reggae

Sister Sledge are diving into a salty, soulful reggae sound with a little (actually a lot) help from Lord Echo, guitarist and producer for my favorite Black Seeds.

And while it's only Monday and the week is long, this feels good, doesn't it? Playin' it along with Rhythm 77, I could swear I can see something blue and sandy at the end of that damn tunnel.

Play it again, Sam

I've always loved the Steely Dan "Do it again" tune and can't say I've ever caught a nice edit on it that could make me goggle with enthusiasm. Till now.

Smooth and creative with the vocals in the right place, this edit by SLMDNK feels so right you wanna play it again. And again. And again.

*Be sure to check out SLMDNK's music here and press the free download button to "Do it again" or whichever tune you love. Also, check him out in a previous post in this blog here

Just one step

Ain't it an inderscribable feeling when you're just one step away from something you really want? It's of no importance what that is, it may be from a slice of pizza to your favorite person in the whole world. Being just one step away from it and knowing you're gonna get it in a while, can sometimes be even more breathtaking than actually getting it.

This awe-inspiring tune catches exactly the feeling -and it's just one step away from its release!
Check out the whole E.P. here. And you'll feel one step away from heaven.

Hauntin' tune

Past few days I’m desperately lookin’ for some free time to relax and feel like human again. This one helps a great deal.

First release (offered with a free download) by the Russian musician and producer Hot Sand (whom we've seen before) for Hator Records. Hot Sand made an inspired remix on Furns - Haunt me (which also does a good job on relaxin' my brain and boost my endorphins).

Startin' to smell like summer in here...

Outer space mix

I don't know what the hell is going on here, but this Diabolical Synthetic Fantasia is utterly, purely, entirely and completely brilliant! And I don't use exclamation marks that often.

Coming from the UK duo Psychemagik, this is a what-the-fuck-just-happened, totally spacey, psyched out mix, which I was on the verge of passing up the first few seconds, but gave me a couple of heart attacks on the row later on. In this soundcloud you'll find only sound clips of the tracks used in the mix and be prepared at around 6:20 onwards to lose your senses for about a minute.

Dreamin' Sunday

Perfect, lovin' tune for a sunny Sunday full of spring.

Al Mac and Zulema formed Zalmac in the '80s and released one lp and two singles. Zulema, also known as a backing vocal singer with Aretha Franklin and a member of Faith Hope and Charity, is no longer with us as of this September. So it's one of those times you feel grateful for the music she left behind for us.

Dude's track

If I were a dude I'd definitely make good use of this tune to get the chick I'd have my eyes on -and probably fail dramatically with this sound in 2014.

But since I ain't, I'll still make good use of this awesome rare track by relaxing and enjoyin' it, the few hours I have free these days.
